Is it better to drink hydrogen-rich water than antialcoholic drug?

Sometimes drinking not only makes things wrong, but also makes yourself uncomfortable. Many times we drink for entertainment, in order not to affect the work and life of the next day, and to relieve the uncomfortable feeling of being drunk, we all want to hang out quickly to relieve the symptoms of dizziness and vomiting caused by drunkenness. So, here is what we need to read carefully!

Are antialcoholic drugs effective?

The catabolism of alcohol in the human body has three pathways: liver, skin and respiratory system, of which about 95% is oxidized and metabolized by the liver's enzyme system. Anti-alcoholism is to enhance the function of the liver enzyme system and play the working principle of decomposing alcohol.

The common anti-alcoholic drugs on the market can be divided into three types: chemicals, traditional Chinese medicine preparations, and health care products.

At present, there is no medicine that can increase the effect of acetaldehyde dehydrogenase. Now the anti-alcoholic drugs on the market have two main functions: one is to partially promote alcohol metabolism, and the other is to partially cover up the subjective symptoms caused by drunkenness. Therefore, doctors do not advocate that people use "anti-alcoholic drugs" to help drink, not only because anti-alcoholic drugs do not essentially have the effect of anti-alcoholism, but may prolong the drinking time because of concealing the symptoms of drunkenness, and ultimately increase the alcohol consumption. Intake does not protect the liver.

Among them, chemical drugs and traditional Chinese medicine preparations can cause metabolic burdens on the liver and kidneys and cause varying degrees of damage while hanging out. The ingredients of some products irritate the stomach and contain additives to obscure the efficacy of the medicine itself.

Hydrogen-rich water and hangover

When wine enters the human body, 20% is first absorbed by the stomach and 80% is absorbed by the small intestine. Most of the absorbed ethanol is catabolized in the liver, and is mainly metabolized into acetaldehyde by alcohol dehydrogenase, and then further oxidized by acetaldehyde dehydrogenase to become carbon dioxide and water, which are eliminated from the body.

If the ethanol and acetaldehyde that have not been decomposed by the liver enter the heart through the hepatic veins, they flow throughout the body. The longer the ethanol stays in the body, the greater the toxicity. Ethanol induces the production of malignant free radicals in the metabolic process, causing damage to many organs such as the liver.

The core function of hangover is to reduce the concentration of ethanol and its metabolites and reduce its oxidative damage to various organs of the body.
With the development and progress of hydrogen medicine, hydrogen-rich water is water rich in hydrogen molecules and is an essential product for hangover without side effects.

Hydrogen molecules in hydrogen-rich water have four medical functions: anti-aging, anti-oxidation, anti-inflammatory, and selective elimination of free radicals in the human body. It has an ideal therapeutic effect on various diseases related to oxidative stress and inflammation.

Drinking hydrogen-rich water after drinking can help the liver effectively remove harmful substances such as acetaldehyde and peroxide produced during the decomposition of alcohol, reduce the oxidative damage to the liver tissue, and achieve the purpose of protecting the liver. So as to relieve dizziness, vomiting and other symptoms caused by drinking.
Academic research on hangover and hydrogen-rich water

On June 24, 2016, the research teams of Hiroshima Prefectural University and Mie University in Japan discussed the relationship between hydrogen-rich water and hangovers and published papers.

The research team prepared three test tubes and observed the speed and state of the decomposition of acetaldehyde.
① The acetaldehyde concentration is 50 → the graph shows the yellow line

② The concentration of acetaldehyde is 50 but contains hydrogen → the green line in the graph

③ Select a small amount of shochu sold on the market (contains 30 concentrations of acetaldehyde during the brewing process), and add hydrogen → the blue line in the graph.
Research result

The test tube without hydrogen did not get any decomposition, while the shochu test tube with hydrogen began to decompose acetaldehyde in about 20 minutes, and it completely decomposed after 40 minutes, and the concentration did not increase after 18 hours.

The decomposition rate of the test tube with a hydrogen concentration of 50 is slightly slower than that of the shochu test tube, but the process of hydrogen decomposition of acetaldehyde can also be clearly seen, and the concentration has not increased after two hours.

Therefore, after drinking, drinking a large amount of hydrogen-rich water with a hydrogen content of more than 800ppb (at least 300ML or more) can quickly hangover and protect the liver!
